I came across a batch of homemade sausage this week. This stuff was exceptionally well-seasoned and lean. It’s good to know people (through people of people)!
Even when there is no time — or inclination — to cook, there’s still time to enjoy a plate of something delicious.
Tahini seasoned to taste with lemon juice and a bit of kosher salt, topped with pine nuts, feta, and parsley; olives; home-grown tomatoes; and fresh pita — picked up at a local Mediterranean grocer. It doesn’t get any easier than that, folks. You don’t even need a recipe. This right here is fast food perfection.
A cold, damp morning of a busy day calls for a large pot of chili that is filling, doesn’t take all day to make, and feeds a construction crew. As if that weren’t compelling enough, it can be made in one pot, making cleanup a cinch — even for folks like me who have a particular talent for destroying kitchens in a flash.
When the temperature drops — or even when it doesn’t — one of my favorite things in the world is a steamy, creamy, head-filling aroma of masala chai. The great thing about this wonderful beverage is that no two are alike. Feel free to play with the spices and sweetness level until you find a blend that fits your personal taste.
